About Around Pearl River

Around Pearl River was created by , a lifelong resident of Pearl River who saw a gap in truly local, community-focused news - and decided to build something better.

I've lived in Pearl River my entire life and have spent years serving this community firsthand. I've worked as a paid firefighter and volunteer firefighter locally with 6 Ward Fire, and have also served as a firefighter in neighboring communities with West Hancock Fire Rescue and Bayside Fire. I've also volunteered with the Pearl River Police Department.

Through that experience, I noticed something missing - real, localized information that focuses on the people who actually live here. Not New Orleans-centered coverage where the Northshore is an afterthought, but news that starts here.

Around Pearl River was built to deliver timely, accurate, community-driven updates - from breaking news and public safety alerts, to weather, road closures, local events, and community happenings.

While this project started in Pearl River, coverage is now expanding to include all of St. Tammany Parish, with the same local-first focus and commitment to accuracy.

Tips are reviewed before posting, accuracy matters, and the goal is simple:
keep our community informed when it matters most.

This site is independently run and community-supported.
